1939 | Building a plant on Sea Island
Boeing Aircraft of Canada builds a plant on Sea Island in Richmond, BC. The plant and its employees support the Allied war effort in WWII and are well known for building the PBY Catalina aircraft. The factory employs around 7000 men and women at its peak.
1919 | First international airmail
William Boeing and pilot Eddie Hubbard fly 60 letters from Vancouver, BC, to Seattle in Boeing’s Model C-700. This is the first international airmail to reach the United States.
1916 | Incorporation
William E. Boeing incorporates the Pacific Aero Products Company on July 15
. He would soon change its name to the Boeing Airplane Company.
The Boeing Model C airplane takes its first flight.
